new to fit for movement?

Our top priority is for all to enjoy time spent at our studio, in our forums, with our collective. Below are answers to some frequently asked questions. In addition please always share your questions, concerns and suggestions.

Before you arrive:
• Please reserve your spot to ensure class is in session and that we haven’t exceeded capacity
• Wear comfortable clothing
• Please bring appropriate footwear for all classes (ballet: ballet shoes, contemporary: barefoot or socks, hip-hop: sneakers)
• Rubber-soled footwear worn inside only is required for hip-hop classes
• Best to wait two to three hours after a meal, or a half hour after a light snack for the most comfortable class experience
• Please refrain from wearing strong perfume or cologne
• Mats can be provided before class, but we encourage you to have your own

When you arrive:
• Please see the studio attendant on the first floor to check in (best to arrive 10 minutes prior to scheduled class time)
• New Students please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to scheduled class time to get acquainted 
• We ask that you take off your shoes, turn off your mobile phone and related devices at the front door
• We don’t have lockers, but we do have ample cubbie space for personal items
• Feel free to introduce yourself, and definitely notify your instructor of all special conditions and injuries

During your movement:
• Listen to your body: challenge when able, but rest when needed
• Be cautious and aware of pain – modifications can always be applied
• Please do not enter or leave the studio during final relaxation – If you need to leave early, please depart before relaxation to avoid disturbing other students

When you’re done for the day:
• When reflecting, take note of thoughts to share with your instructor or peers
• Hydrate and take it slow to your next destination
• If so inclined share your experience at feedback@fitformovement.com or on our online forums
